Our mission is to further protection and restoration of sensitive Maine coastal ecosystems.

GOALS:

•  Provide baseline natural resources data and management strategies to area conservation organizations that actively steward and manage coastal islands.
• Collect data of critical coastal habitats with at-risk conditions including invasive plant and marine species affecting the health and status of sensitive ecosystems.
• Establish monitoring sites and photo points at critical coastal island habitats threatened by climate change, warming waters, sea level rise and population growth.
• Create linkages between federal and state agencies, town officers, area conservation groups and volunteers who support restoration efforts at coastal islands.
